What you described was a very jaded view of parasite host. Hubpages squidoo WordPress are also considered parasite as you do not own the site but like a PARASITE you are leaching authority from the site.

Also almost all SEO is blackhat. According to google all SEO is either it is google best practices or it is not. Google states anytime you look and say hey I am going to rank an article for xyz keyword you are now in violation of there best practices. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6001181?hl=en . Literally ANYTHING at ALL you do to rank is a website is Blackhat. I linked to the article which has been in practice on google for several year I know about. So I think we can drop the Blackhat facade as according to that there really is no such thing as whitehat. So can we just say LEGAL and ILLEGAL SEO.

Hijacking domains is ILLEGAL. Using a parasite host is not ILLEGAL. Learn your terminology. It is LEGAL to use wordpress.com to create a page with an article dropping a link back to your site to LEGALLY leach some of that authority. THAT is parasite hosting.

Just figured I would inform the ill informed as this blog came up while I was looking for a more updated list of PARASITE HOST for a new project I am working on.

I’ve heard of the practice but have never seen parasite hosting broken down like this. Now I know what to look for! Thanks for the info.
