What is the role of “link equity” in “link building”?
Are all the links pass an equal value to the page? Can we say that the “link equity” and “link value” are the same terms or have the same meaning?

A well structured site hierarchy with clear directions from one page to another definitely will help the website rank higher.

Very informative. I ‘m working on a local business site where the homepage is optimised for the main keyword phrase (their main service) which sits mid page one.
What are your thoughts on creating a sidebar on most of the site’s pages (around 100 pages) with keyword links to their four services, including the main one on the homepage?
Do you think this would help the homepage service rank better because of the increased internal keyword signals, or risk a Google penalty because of over optimisation, or have little to no effect?
Top ranking competitor does this with good results, but the links point to internal pages rather than homepage. The internal pages rank number one, as does their main homepage phrase, which has no keyword linking back to it internally – and only a couple of anchor text back links from other sites.
Appreciate any thoughts on this – particularly advice on keyword internal linking aimed at the homepage.

What is your opinion on the role that related post plugins play in internal linking? Do you recommend them or do you think it would be better to always do linking manually?

Maybe I’ll use it in another. I’d recommend you stick with a maximum of 3 interlinks within 500 words. You should also have at least 1 external link to a relevant source.

If i have a post of 500 words than how many articles i should interlink 2, 3 or 5.

thanks for your answer. 1 month ago I sent a lot of toxic backlinks to the Google tool disallow links, so I do not think that’s the reason. The 8-9 internal links are of the type You may also like: “title of the article or similar to this”, these do not usually have the same anchor text.

Before doing that, I would make sure that your backlinks are not the issue. It might be a negative SEO attack even. You can use the cognitiveSEO tool to check the backlinks. However, if all the 8-9 internal links are on the same anchor text and it’s the exact keyword you’re trying to rank for… it could be. Instead of removing them, replace the anchor text with a variation.
